Last updated: October 2026. This policy explains what we collect across your account, your vehicle and every job, and why.
What we collect
Account details you provide (name, email, mobile number), vehicle details (make, model, year, VIN, plate, colour and mileage/odometer), job details (addresses, requested dates, inspection checklist results, technician notes), photos, videos and documents uploaded against a job, your chat messages with our advisors, drivers and technicians, and basic device and session data — IP address, device type, approximate location and sign-in history — used to keep your account secure.
How we use it
To quote and carry out repairs, run collection and delivery, operate live chat and real-time tracking, maintain your digital service book, send service-stage and security notifications, detect suspicious sign-ins, and improve how we run the workshop. We never sell your data.
Live chat and tracking
Messages you send in a job's chat thread, and the status updates generated as your vehicle moves through collection, repair and return, are stored as part of that job's permanent record so both of us can refer back to them later.
Sharing
We share only what is necessary with parts suppliers, recovery partners and, once introduced, payment processors. Vehicle valuation requests may be matched against Car Guys Marketplace data. We do not sell or rent your personal data.
Account security
Access to your job and vehicle data is restricted to the advisor, driver and technician assigned to it. We record your active sessions and sign-in history, and administrative actions on your account are logged, so unusual activity can be investigated.
Cookies
We use a single session cookie to keep you signed in. We don't run third-party advertising or tracking cookies on the platform.
Retention
Service records — including photos, documents and chat history tied to a job — are retained for seven years so warranty claims and resale history remain verifiable. You may request deletion of marketing data at any time.
Your rights
You can request a copy of your data, correct inaccuracies, or withdraw marketing consent by emailing garage@car-guys.com. Job and vehicle history tied to an active warranty or legal retention period may be kept even after such a request, as explained above.
Children
Our services are intended for users aged 18 and over. We don't knowingly collect data from children.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy as our services evolve. Material changes will be flagged in your dashboard.
